The CERCA Institution is the Government of Catalonia’s technical service and its means for supervising, supporting and facilitating the activities of the research centres in the CERCA system.

Set up as a foundation, its purpose is to ensure that the Catalan research centres system is properly developed; to encourage and maximize synergies, coordination between centres and strategic cooperation; to improve the positioning, visibility and impact of the research carried out and to facilitate communication between public and private agents.
