The Departament d’Art i Musicologia of the UAB carries out an intense research activity, organised basically through competitive research projects and research groups.

The research done by the teaching team of the Department results in articles in specialized journals, books and book chapters. The Department publishes the journal Locus Amoenus and takes part in the publishing of the journal Recerca Musicològica (published by Institut de Musicologia "Josep Ricard i Matas", of the Reial Acadèmia Catalana de Belles Arts de Sant Jordi).
