The Escola Superior d'Arxivística i Gestió de Documents, linked to UAB, was lauched in 2002, with the aim to train experts in archives and document management and promote research activity in those subjects. It is a pioneer initiative in Spain and gets the cooperation of the Associació d'Arxivers de Catalunya.

It provides the Màster en Arxivística i Gestió de Documents and also organizes several specialized postgrades, among them the management of e-documents, photography archives management and historical documents digitization. In 2012 a training line in business has been opened under the seal Esaged-Efficientia.

Esaged keeps since 2007 a tight professional cooperation with Escuela Mejicana de Archivos, located in Mexico, D.F., through an agreement that makes it possible to offer a joint programme for organizing congresses, specialized training courses and joint assessment and international advisory and consultancy activities open to all countries, specially Latin America.
