The Departament d’Economia i d’Història Econòmica consists of the Unitat d’Història Econòmica and the Unitat de Fonaments de l’Anàlisi Econòmica.

The Unitat d’Història Econòmica has as a goal the training and research in the fields of Economic History and Environment Economics. Its research activity es centered in several research projects financed by the European Union, the Spanish Ministry of Education and Science and the Catalan Government, as well as different agreements with finance entities and other organisations linked working around environmentmatters. The Unitat d’Història Econòmica organises the el Syimposium of Economic History and takes part in editorial committees of national and international scientific journals.

The Unitat de Fonaments de l’Anàlisi Econòmica offers different specialized seminars, organised jointly with Institut d’Anàlisi Econòmica, IAE-CSIC and workshops that meet on a regular basis. It also has a permanent participation in many international meetings and congresses.
Its research guidelines are the following: Game Theory, Economics of Information, Industrial Organization, Health and Labor Economics, Monetary and Fiscal Policy, Finance, Public Economics, Quantitative Methods, Simulation techniques.
