The talk covered several issues motivated by a practical engineering wave propagationproblem: real-time evaluation of wave agitation in harbors. The firstpart, presented the application of a reduced order model in the framework of aHelmholtz equation with non-constant coefficients in an unbounded domain. Thisproblem requires large numbers of degrees of freedom (ndof) because relativelyhigh frequencies with small (compared with the domain size) geometric featuresmust be considered.
